Report: Chelsea target Falcao wants agreement before Copa America

Radamel Falcao could secure an agreement to join Chelsea this summer before heading off to participate in the Copa America, according to the Mirror.
The news outlet also claim that the Colombian is in talks with the Premier League champions and is willing to take a huge pay cut in order to complete the deal.
Falcao is ‘desperate’ to prove a point in the top division of English football, the Mirror go on to explain, and wishes to resolve his future before the South American football tournament commences next Thursday on June 11th.
Falcao, 29, spent the last season on loan at Manchester United but struggled to come to terms with the new country, club and style of play as the Colombian finished the campaign with just four goals in the Premier League.
United told him prior to their final game of the season against Hull City that he was not needed and his loan was terminated.

Things didn’t quite go to plan for Falcao, but the 29-year-old seemingly has an escape route and a chance to prove himself at Chelsea with Jose Mourinho apparently keen to sign the forward this summer; the Mirror report that Falcao’s astronomical wages currently sit at £265,000-a-week, though he’s apparently willing to slash them dramatically to force through his move to Chelsea, as Monaco are keen to get him off their books and better their finances.

The deal that could see Falcao move to Stamford Bridge, though depending on how things pan out could see him make become third choice behind Diego Costa, who scored 20 goals in his debut Premier League season, and Loic Remy, who also demonstrated his quality from the bench. Didier Drogba, meanwhile, played his final game for the club last week.
